In-House Glass Blowers

Steve Kelnhofer

Steve is an unstoppable creative force to be reckoned with. By fathering 7th Floor, he has worked to bring together everything amazing about glass blowing and vaporizing. In his own art he is always trying to perfect different techniques, constantly expanding into new territories. He puts his life experiences into his pieces, drawing inspiration from nature, the streets, and the unbeatable Colorado lifestyle.

"Work hard, work smart, finding solutions to failures no matter how many times brings only the best of the best and leads you to new paths and territories of life and art, so Ride the Wave and enjoy life!"

Matt Zimmerman

Blowing glass is Matt's passion, and he thrives on creating well put together pieces. His inspiration not only comes from the crew he works alongside here at 7th Floor, it's also largely fueled by all the amazing ideas that our customers bring in. His sole focus is to always learn something new.

"There are so many glass blowers out there creating things that blow my mind. I like to push myself to bring some of those new ideas into things I'm making"

Dave the Slave

Dave bought his first glass piece back in '98, and instantly knew he needed to find a way to create the same kind of art. Most of his motivation comes from that piece, which he still has to this day. In 2008 he found an opportunity at 7th Floor to prove to himself that blowing glass is what he wants to do his whole life. Now that he's one of our top blowers, he challenges himself every day to be better and faster. That's his inspiration, knowing that knowledge never ends.

Keith Brocious

Keith, aka K.B., was born to blow glass. He pulls inspiration from the art he sees out in the world, not just in glass blowing, but in tattoos, sculptures, nature, and anything else he can. Most of his pieces are made without any idea what the end result will be. The idea that one day his name could be known in the glass community, and he can teach others how to find their inspirations through a torch, have been some of his biggest motivations. That, and those unbeatable moments when a customer says his piece is amazing.

Jeff Engle

Jeff is one of our up and coming glass blowers, but you wouldn't know it. His glass art brings a whole new style to the crew, with all of his motivation coming from working with some of the most entertaining people he's had the pleasure of knowing.

"It's not too hard to find a little inspiration around here. There's a lot of experienced people here making piles of awesome glass. I'm just trying to keep up!"

Sean Heinsman

Sean was born right here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Playing various musical instruments throughout his school career gave him a life long love and inspiration for art, both visual and audible. The opportunity to blow glass with Elev8 while learning from some great guys and glass artists has only increased this inspiration. Sean also draws inspiration from the amazing beauty of the mountains and nature found in his beloved hometown.

"Work hard in silence, let success make the noise."

Mike Cook

"I first started blowing glass in Oregon 2013. I learned some decent fundamentals and got to see awesome glass everywhere I went, which was a great motivational tool to make my glass look just as good as theirs. I received the opportunity to work for 7th Floor in 2014. I took it and haven't looked back since. The guys here have taught me a lot and I look forward to learning much, much more."

"Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine."- Nikola Tesla
