Joel Halen is a name you hear a lot of in the glass community. Not only has he been making awesome glass work for over 20 years he produces some of the finest quartz bangers that money can buy. Joel started blowing glass in 2001 making small beads, hemp necklaces, and spoon pipes and first selling his work at Bonnaroo. From there he worked as a production glass worker for Geostrophic glass in Omaha, Nebraska for the next 3 years. From Omaha, Nebraska Joel relocated in 2004 to Colorado where he did scientific glass for Kind Creations and later in 2011 started his journey with quartz.
Joel says the person that really got him into glass was Chad Tyson, the owner of Geostrophic. Joel Halen stays inspired by older glass blowers that still make good work, he specifically mentioned Ease, Cowboy, and Banjo as some of his favorites. In his free time Joel enjoys shooting, hockey, and taking care of his pet potbelly pig. According to Joel, aliens exist and are in the process of recreating and improving our iced creams.
