This is an incredible penguin water pipe which was made as a collaboration between Chaka Glass and Robert G. Koch. Koch's famous millefiori designs adorn the penguin's stomach and feet,
Chaka Glass has been working with glass since 2004 when he learned from a friend who was making jewelry and pipes in Amherst MA. While finishing a bachelors degree in psychology at UMass Amherst, Chaka Glass learned the basics of glass blowing and after a year he was working full time crafting jewelry and making marbles. Chaka Glass spent the next 8 years of his glass blowing carrer exhibiting nature and sea themed jewelry and sculptures at various craft shows around New England. In 2013 he decided to make artistic glass pipes full time and developed new work that allowed him further his creative reach. Chaka Glass has taken a number of classes and workshops with Milon Townsend, John Kobuki, Loren Stump, Robert Mickelsen, Kiva Ford and many other established names in the world of lampwork borosilicate art glass. His skills vary widely with some work in soft glass. Lately he has been diving further into sculptural work and ice/glacial themes and motifs. Chaka Glass continues to explore the medium in his Boston studio.
